Remo Palmieri

Remo Palmieri

Jazz Guitarist

Remo Palmieri (1923–2002) was an American jazz guitarist known for his work during the bebop era. He began his career in the early 1940s and gained recognition for his performances with the big bands of Gene Krupa and Woody Herman. Palmieri was also a part of the historic Town Hall concert in 1945, which featured Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker, two of bebop's most influential figures. Throughout his career, he played with a variety of jazz luminaries, including Coleman Hawkins, Billie Holiday, and Benny Goodman. Palmieri's style was characterized by his clean, fluid lines and inventive improvisation. While he may not have achieved the same level of fame as some of his contemporaries, he was respected within the jazz community for his contributions to the genre.
