He is well known for his smooth, silky voice and has made significant contributions to the genre of R&B. Bryson's career began in the late 1970s, and he gained fame with a string of hits in the 1980s and 1990s. He is particularly recognized for his ballads and for his duets with female singers such as Roberta Flack on "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" and Regina Belle on the Grammy-winning hit "A Whole New World" from Disney's "Aladdin."
