Obie Jessie, also known as Young Jessie, was an American R&B and jazz singer and songwriter. Born on December 28, 1936, in Lincoln Manor, Dallas, Texas, he was part of the 1950s West Coast R&B scene. Jessie's career began with the group The Flairs in the early 1950s, which also included Richard Berry, author of the song "Louie Louie." He later pursued a solo career and released several singles under Modern Records and other labels.
