Northlane is an Australian metalcore band formed in 2009 in Sydney. The band has undergone several lineup changes throughout its career, with guitarist Jon Deiley and drummer Nic Pettersen being the only consistent members since its inception. Northlane's music is characterized by its heavy yet melodic sound, incorporating elements of progressive metal and djent. They gained prominence in the metalcore scene with their critically acclaimed album "Discoveries" in 2011 and continued to build their reputation with subsequent releases such as "Singularity" in 2013, which further solidified their standing within the genre.
