Pioneering Glam Punk Rock Band

The New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. They are often cited as one of the most influential groups of the early punk rock scene due to their raw, energetic style and flamboyant stage presence. The original lineup consisted of David Johansen on vocals, Johnny Thunders on guitar, Arthur "Killer" Kane on bass, Jerry Nolan on drums, and Sylvain Sylvain on guitar. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1973, and the 1974 follow-up "Too Much Too Soon" were commercial failures at the time but have since been recognized as pioneering works in the punk and glam rock genres.
