Mother Earth

Mother Earth

Eco-conscious Folk Music Ensemble

Mother Earth was a British acid jazz outfit formed in London in 1992. They were part of the acid jazz movement of the 1990s and were associated with the Acid Jazz record label, which helped to define the genre's sound. The band was led by vocalist Paul Weller's younger brother, Nick Weller, on bass, alongside Matt Deighton on vocals and guitar, Bryn Barklam on Hammond organ, Chris White on drums, and Neil Corcoran on percussion. Mother Earth released several albums during their career, including "Stoned Woman" (1993), "The People Tree" (1995), and "You Have Been Watching" (1997). Their music combined elements of funk, soul, jazz, and rock, contributing to the eclectic sound that characterized the acid jazz scene of that era. The band disbanded in 1997 after their final album release.
