German Soprano and Opera Legend

Lotte Lehmann (1888–1976) was a renowned German soprano, celebrated for her performances in opera as well as in Lieder recitals. She had a significant career that spanned several decades, beginning in the early 20th century. Lehmann made her debut in 1910 and gained prominence at the Vienna State Opera from 1914 to 1938, where she became one of the most admired singers of her time. Her repertoire was extensive, including roles in operas by Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Giuseppe Verdi, among others.
