French Baroque Ensemble

Les Talens Lyriques is a renowned French baroque ensemble founded in 1991 by the harpsichordist and conductor Christophe Rousset. Named after an opera by Rameau, the group specializes in the music of the Baroque and Classical eras, performed on period instruments. Under Rousset's direction, Les Talens Lyriques has gained international acclaim for its dynamic performances and scholarly approach to music from the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble's repertoire spans a wide range of works, including lesser-known operas and chamber music, alongside more familiar pieces by composers such as Lully, Handel, and Mozart. They have recorded extensively and their discography includes critically acclaimed albums that have contributed to a revival of interest in Baroque opera and have won numerous awards.
