Lasalle Quartet

Lasalle Quartet

Pioneering Modern Classical String Quartet

The LaSalle Quartet was a highly regarded string quartet founded in 1946 at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. The quartet was named after La Salle Street in Chicago, where its first violinist, Walter Levin, had lived. The ensemble quickly gained a reputation for its dedication to contemporary music and for its interpretations of the Second Viennese School composers, such as Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg, and Anton Webern.
