Lady June

Lady June

British poet and performance artist

Lady June, whose full name was June Campbell Cramer, was an English painter, poet, and experimental musician associated with the Canterbury scene of progressive rock in the 1970s. She was known for her bohemian lifestyle and her involvement with many musicians from that scene. Her most notable contribution to music is the album "Lady June's Linguistic Leprosy," which was released in 1974. The album is a unique blend of spoken word poetry and avant-garde music, featuring contributions from prominent Canterbury scene artists such as Kevin Ayers and Brian Eno. While not achieving mainstream success, Lady June's work has been appreciated for its eccentricity and has garnered a cult following over the years. Her artistic endeavors spanned various mediums, but she is primarily remembered for her idiosyncratic approach to music and spoken word performance.
