Klark Kent

Klark Kent

Pseudonymous Music Project by Stewart Copeland

Klark Kent is the pseudonym used by Stewart Copeland, best known as the drummer for the British rock band The Police, for his solo work. Under this moniker, Copeland released music that was stylistically distinct from The Police's sound, allowing him to experiment with different styles and showcase his versatility as a musician. The Klark Kent persona was initially a secret, with Copeland maintaining anonymity behind this alter ego. He released a self-titled 10-inch EP in 1980, which featured a collection of songs written and performed by him. Copeland played all the instruments on the recordings and also took care of the vocal duties. The music of Klark Kent was characterized by its new wave influence and quirky, energetic style. Despite the initial mystery surrounding Klark Kent's identity, it eventually became public knowledge that Stewart Copeland was the man behind the music.
