Kestrel

Kestrel

Kestrel was a progressive rock band from Newcastle, England, that formed in the early 1970s. They are known for their self-titled album "Kestrel," which was released in 1975. The band's music was characterized by intricate arrangements and melodic structures typical of the progressive rock genre of that era. Despite their potential and musicianship, Kestrel did not achieve widespread commercial success and remained relatively obscure, with their debut album gaining more appreciation posthumously among collectors and aficionados of the genre. The band's lineup included Dave Black on guitar and vocals, Tom Knowles on lead vocals, John Cook on keyboards, Fenwick Moir on bass, and Dave Whitaker on drums. After the release of their only album, the band eventually disbanded, with some members going on to pursue other projects within the music industry.
