Karl Ridderbusch was a renowned German operatic bass known for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Born on May 29, 1932, in Recklinghausen, he began his career in the late 1950s after completing his musical studies. Ridderbusch quickly gained recognition for his interpretations of roles in the works of Richard Wagner, among other composers. He became particularly famous for his performances in Wagnerian operas such as "Der Fliegende Holländer" (The Flying Dutchman) and "Lohengrin," where he often sang the parts of King Heinrich and Daland, respectively.
