Kaizers Orchestra is a Norwegian alternative rock band that was formed in the year 2000 by vocalist Janove Ottesen and guitarist Geir Zahl in Bryne, Rogaland. Known for their distinctive sound that blends rock with influences from traditional Eastern European music, particularly the use of the pump organ, they quickly gained popularity in Norway and across Europe. Their debut album "Ompa til du dør" (2001) was a critical and commercial success, winning a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) for 'Rock Album of the Year'. The band's energetic live performances and unique musical style, characterized by the use of oil barrels, accordions, and other unconventional instruments, set them apart from their contemporaries.
