Veteran American Blues and Rock Guitarist

Jorma Kaukonen is a renowned American blues, folk, and rock guitarist, best known for his work with the psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane and the spin-off group Hot Tuna. Born on December 23, 1940, in Washington, D.C., Kaukonen became a leading figure in the San Francisco music scene during the 1960s. With Jefferson Airplane, he contributed significantly to the band's sound and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. After Jefferson Airplane disbanded, Kaukonen continued to perform with bassist Jack Casady in Hot Tuna, which started as a side project and became a full-time endeavor showcasing their love for blues music.
