John Scott

John Scott was a renowned English organist and choirmaster, recognized for his contributions to church music and his performances as a concert organist. Born on June 18, 1956, he served as the organist and director of music at St Paul's Cathedral in London from 1990 to 2004, where he directed the choir for numerous national events. In 2004, he moved to the United States to become the organist and director of music at St Thomas Church Fifth Avenue in New York City. Scott was a prolific recording artist, with a discography that included both organ solo works and choral pieces. His expertise in Baroque music, particularly the works of composers like Henry Purcell, was widely acknowledged. Tragically, John Scott passed away on August 12, 2015, leaving behind a legacy as one of the leading figures in Anglican church music.
