Hovvdy is an American indie rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2014. The duo consists of Charlie Martin and Will Taylor, who started the project with a focus on creating lo-fi, emotionally resonant songs that blend elements of indie rock, slowcore, and bedroom pop. They are known for their intimate songwriting and gentle soundscapes. Hovvdy's debut album "Taster," originally released in 2016 and reissued in 2017, garnered attention for its warm, home-recorded aesthetic and relatable lyrics. Following the success of their first album, they released "Cranberry" in 2018, which continued to build their reputation for crafting hushed, introspective tracks. Their third album "True Love" came out in 2021 and saw the band further refining their sound and exploring new thematic territory while maintaining the emotional depth that has characterized their music. Throughout their career, Hovvdy has been praised for their ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia and comfort through their understated musical approach.
