Psychedelic Folk Duo

Grim Tower is a collaborative project between Stephen McBean of Black Mountain and Imaad Wasif, both musicians with a background in rock music. The duo came together to explore their shared interest in acoustic music and esoteric themes, resulting in the creation of their album "Anarchic Breezes." Released in 2013, the album showcases a blend of folk influences with a darker, psychedelic edge. Stephen McBean is known for his work with the Canadian rock band Black Mountain, which has achieved critical acclaim for its heavy psychedelic rock sound. Imaad Wasif has a solo career as well as collaborations with other artists and contributions to bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs for their live performances. The Grim Tower project allowed both artists to step away from their electric roots and experiment with a more stripped-down, acoustic approach to songwriting and performance.
