Grant Hart

Grant Hart

Influential American Musician and Hüsker Dü Co-Founder

Grant Hart was an American musician and songwriter, best known as the drummer and co-vocalist for the influential punk band Hüsker Dü, which he formed with Bob Mould and Greg Norton in the late 1970s in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After Hüsker Dü disbanded in 1988, Hart pursued a solo career and formed another band called Nova Mob, where he moved from drums to guitar and vocals. His solo career produced several albums, including "Intolerance" (1989), "Good News For Modern Man" (1999), and "Hot Wax" (2009). In 2013, he released his final album, "The Argument," which was a concept album based on John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost." Hart's work is known for its melodic sensibilities and deeply personal lyrics. Tragically, Grant Hart passed away on September 13, 2017, after a battle with cancer. His contributions to the punk and alternative rock scenes remain influential to this day.
