However, one notable instance is Grand Slam, a band formed by Irish guitarist Phil Lynott after the breakup of his successful group Thin Lizzy in 1983. Grand Slam continued Lynott's exploration of rock music, but they never released a studio album during their brief existence. The band played live gigs and recorded demos but disbanded in 1985 following difficulties securing a record deal and Lynott's ongoing personal issues. Unfortunately, Phil Lynott passed away in January 1986. Posthumous collections of Grand Slam's recordings have been released, offering fans a glimpse into what Lynott's new project was creating during its short lifespan.
