German Film Composer and Conductor

Gottfried Huppertz was a German composer who made significant contributions to the world of film music during the silent film era. Born on March 11, 1887, in Cologne, he initially pursued an acting career before focusing on music composition. Huppertz is best known for his work with the pioneering film director Fritz Lang, for whom he composed the scores for two of Lang's most iconic films: "Metropolis" (1927) and "Die Nibelungen" (1924), which consists of two parts, "Siegfried" and "Kriemhild's Revenge."
