Formed in 1974, the band is known for its high-energy boogie-blues sound characterized by George Thorogood's distinctive vocals and vigorous guitar work. They gained significant popularity in the 1980s with their hit "Bad to the Bone" as well as their covers of blues standards such as Hank Williams' "Move It On Over," Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer."
