George Jackson was an American rhythm and blues, soul singer, and songwriter who made significant contributions to popular music in the 1960s and 1970s. Born on March 12, 1945, in Greenville, Mississippi, he is best known for his work as a songwriter for other artists while also pursuing his own recording career. Jackson wrote or co-wrote numerous hits for other musicians, including "One Bad Apple" for The Osmonds and "Old Time Rock and Roll" for Bob Seger.
