General Surgery

General Surgery

Swedish Goregrind Band

General Surgery is a Swedish goregrind band that was formed in 1988. The band is known for its gruesome and macabre lyrical content, heavily influenced by the medical field and pathology, as well as its musical style that combines elements of grindcore with death metal. General Surgery went through several lineup changes and periods of inactivity throughout their career. Despite these changes, they have maintained a cult following in the extreme metal scene. Their discography includes a number of EPs, splits, and full-length albums, with "Left Hand Pathology" (2006) and "Corpus In Extremis: Analyzing Necrocriticism" (2009) being notable releases that showcase their blend of surgical-themed lyrics and aggressive musicianship. The band's work is often compared to early Carcass, another band known for pioneering the goregrind genre.
