Indie Pop Band

Fun. is an American indie pop band that was formed in New York City in 2008. The band is composed of lead vocalist Nate Ruess, who previously fronted the band The Format, multi-instrumentalist Jack Antonoff, who later became well-known for his solo project Bleachers and work as a songwriter and producer, and Andrew Dost, who has been involved in various other musical projects. Fun. gained significant popularity with the release of their second album, "Some Nights," in 2012, which featured the hit single "We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monáe. The song achieved massive success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and winning the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 2013. The album itself was noted for its modern production techniques and anthemic pop songs. Following their success with "Some Nights," Fun. announced a hiatus in 2015 to allow its members to pursue other projects, but they have not disbanded officially.
