France Clidat (1932-2012) was a renowned French pianist, particularly celebrated for her interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt. Born in Paris, she studied at the Paris Conservatoire and won the prestigious Prix du Conservatoire at the age of 16. Clidat's career was marked by her deep exploration of Liszt's compositions, which led to her being recognized as one of the leading Liszt interpreters of her time. She recorded extensively, and her discography includes not only the works of Liszt but also those of other composers such as Saint-Saëns and Ravel. Clidat performed in concert halls around the world and was also a respected teacher, imparting her knowledge to the next generation of pianists.
