Fourplay

Fourplay

Contemporary Jazz Quartet

Fourplay is a contemporary jazz quartet that has enjoyed consistent success and critical acclaim since their inception in 1991. The original lineup consisted of Bob James (keyboards), Lee Ritenour (guitar), Nathan East (bass), and Harvey Mason (drums). The band's self-titled debut album, "Fourplay," released in 1991, showcased their unique blend of jazz, R&B, and pop elements and quickly climbed the charts, earning them a strong following among jazz aficionados. Over the years, Fourplay has seen changes in its lineup; notably, Larry Carlton replaced Lee Ritenour in 1998, and later, Chuck Loeb took over for Carlton in 2010 until his passing in 2017.
