Demilich is a Finnish death metal band that was formed in the early 1990s. They are known for their highly technical style and the distinctive, guttural vocal style of their lead singer, Antti Boman. The band gained a cult following in the death metal scene with their complex compositions and unconventional song structures. Demilich released their first and only full-length album, "Nespithe," in 1993, which has since been regarded as a classic in the technical death metal genre. Despite their initial short-lived career, the band's influence has persisted, leading to a reformation for live performances in later years. The compilation album "20th Adversary of Emptiness" was released in 2014, which includes "Nespithe" and additional material from their demos and rehearsals, celebrating the band's legacy two decades after their seminal release.
