Deacon Blue

Scottish pop rock band

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop rock band formed in Glasgow in 1985. The group achieved their greatest success during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their name was inspired by the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues." The band is fronted by lead vocalist Ricky Ross, and their lineup has included Lorraine McIntosh (vocals), James Prime (keyboards), Dougie Vipond (drums), Ewen Vernal (bass), and Graeme Kelling (guitar) until his death in 2004. Deacon Blue is known for their soulful, melodic tracks and have garnered a large fan base with their anthemic style.
