Dave Evans

Dave Evans

Australian-born rock musician and original AC/DC lead singer

British finger-picking guitarist, born December 3rd, 1940 - died April 4th, 2021. Born in Bangor, Wales. After serving the Navy he moved to Bristol with Steve Tilston, signing with The Village Thing and releasing the Ian A. Anderson-produced The Words In Between, which was named one of the top ten albums in a contemporary Daily Mail review, with John Peel becoming a fan. This was followed by Elephantasia on the same label before releasing the instrumental Sad Pig Dance on Kicking Mule. After his 1976 album Take a Bite Out of Life, he retired and moved to Belgium, working as a luthier, brewer and potter, although he still made the rare live performance.
