Claudio Simonetti's Goblin

Claudio Simonetti's Goblin

Italian Progressive Rock Band

Claudio Simonetti's Goblin, often known simply as Goblin, is an Italian progressive rock band that gained prominence in the 1970s for their film scores, particularly in the horror genre. The band was originally formed in 1972 under the name Cherry Five by Claudio Simonetti (keyboards), Massimo Morante (guitars), Fabio Pignatelli (bass), and Walter Martino (drums). They changed their name to Goblin when they were called upon by Italian director Dario Argento to score his film "Profondo Rosso" (Deep Red) in 1975. This collaboration proved to be a major success and marked the beginning of a long-standing relationship with Argento.
