Centro-Matic

Centro-Matic

Indie Rock Band from Texas

Centro-Matic was an indie rock band formed in Denton, Texas, in 1995. The band was led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Will Johnson, who was the only constant member throughout its existence. Centro-Matic gained a reputation for their lo-fi, emotionally resonant music that blended elements of rock, folk, and country. Over the course of their career, they released a number of albums that showcased their evolving sound, including "Navigational" (1999), "All The Falsest Hearts Can Try" (2000), and "Distance And Clime" (2001). These records helped to establish the band's presence in the indie music scene. Centro-Matic was known for their prolific output and dedicated fan base until they disbanded in 2014 after a farewell tour. Their music continues to be celebrated for its heartfelt songwriting and distinctive style.
