Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar on October 11, 1992, is an American rapper, songwriter, and actress who rose to fame through social media platforms with her candid and often humorous commentary on life. Her music career took off after the release of her debut single "Bodak Yellow" in 2017, which hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. This success made her the second female rapper to top the chart with a solo output—following Lauryn Hill in 1998. Cardi B's debut studio album, "Invasion of Privacy," released in 2018, broke several streaming records, was certified triple platinum by the RIAA, and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, making her the first female rapper to win the award as a solo artist.
