Botch

Botch

American mathcore band

Botch was an influential American metalcore band formed in Tacoma, Washington in 1993. The group is known for their innovative and technical style, which combined elements of hardcore punk with a complex metal sound. Botch released several albums that have been highly regarded within the underground metal and hardcore scenes. Their 1998 album "American Nervoso" showcased their aggressive approach to the genre, while their 1999 release "We Are the Romans" is often cited as a seminal work in the mathcore subgenre, featuring intricate guitar work and time signature changes. The band's final release before their breakup in 2002 was the EP "An Anthology Of Dead Ends," which continued to push the boundaries of their sound. Despite their relatively short career, Botch's influence can be heard in many modern hardcore and metal bands, and they are remembered as pioneers who helped shape the direction of heavy music in the late '90s and early 2000s.
