Blasting Rod

After various experiments led by S. Shah beginning in the summer of 2006 e.v., Blasting Rod stabilized as a power trio in 2013 e.v. when Chihiro took over the the drum throne from Ju'uzo. Yoshihiro Yasui replaced Shunji Miyoshi as bassist in the fall of 2018. Originally a solo project that expanded into an improvisational collective, Shah began to mix original compositions with improvisation under the name of Blasting Rod in 2013 e.v. In 2016 e.v. Chihiro was consecrated as The Office of Babalon with Shah at the Feast of the Gods, and Blasting Rod's first limited edition CD was released on their own Low&Slow.Disk label. The trio has since performed regularly in central Japan, Osaka, and Tokyo occasionally with dancers, horn players, or other collaborators.
