B.j. Thomas

B.j. Thomas

Grammy Award-Winning American Pop Singer

B.J. Thomas was an American singer widely known for his hit songs in the 1960s and 1970s. Born Billy Joe Thomas on August 7, 1942, in Hugo, Oklahoma, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he began his music career by singing in a church choir and later joined the musical group The Triumphs. Thomas gained major popularity with his recording of "Hooked on a Feeling," which became a top-ten hit in the United States in 1968. However, his most enduring record was "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the film "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." The song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and became an international hit.
