British Folk Big Band

Bellowhead was an English contemporary folk band, known for their eclectic blending of traditional folk music with modern twists. Formed in 2004 by John Spiers and Jon Boden, the band quickly grew to an 11-member ensemble, featuring a rich array of instruments including brass, strings, and percussion. Bellowhead gained critical acclaim for their energetic live performances and innovative approach to folk music. They released several albums throughout their career, with "Burlesque" in 2006 being one of their early works that showcased their distinctive style. The band's influence on the folk scene was significant, earning them multiple awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards over the years. Despite their success, Bellowhead announced in 2015 that they would be disbanding following a farewell tour. They left behind a legacy as one of the most beloved and influential acts in modern British folk music.
