Back Street Crawler

Back Street Crawler

British blues-rock band

Back Street Crawler was a British blues-rock band formed in the mid-1970s. The group was led by guitarist Paul Kossoff, who had previously achieved fame as a member of the band Free. After Free disbanded, Kossoff struggled with personal issues but eventually formed Back Street Crawler, which served as his attempt to continue his musical career. The band released two studio albums during their brief existence: "The Band Plays On" in 1975 and "2nd Street" in 1976. Despite showing promise and featuring Kossoff's distinctive guitar work, Back Street Crawler's potential was cut short due to Kossoff's untimely death from drug-related heart problems in 1976 at the age of 25. His passing effectively ended the band's progression, but their music remains a testament to his talent and has since been appreciated by fans of blues-rock and guitar aficionados.
