Czech Classical Composer and Violinist

Antonín Vranický, also known as Anton Wranitzky or Antonín Vranický, was a prominent Czech violinist, composer, and teacher who lived during the classical period. Born on June 13, 1761, in Nová Říše in the Habsburg Monarchy (now the Czech Republic), he was a significant figure in the musical life of Vienna. Vranický studied under renowned composers of his time, including Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He was highly esteemed by Ludwig van Beethoven, who dedicated his two violin sonatas Op. 23 and Op. 24 (the "Spring Sonata") to him.
