Anacrusis

Progressive Metal Band

Anacrusis was an American progressive thrash metal band formed in 1986 in St. Louis, Missouri. The band was known for incorporating elements of progressive rock and heavy metal with thrash, creating a unique sound for their time. Anacrusis released their debut album "Suffering Hour" in 1988, which showcased their complex arrangements and thoughtful lyrics. They followed up with "Reason" in 1990, further developing their style and gaining more attention in the underground metal scene. Their third album, "Manic Impressions," came out in 1991 and continued to build on their reputation for innovative songwriting and musicianship. Despite critical acclaim within the metal community, Anacrusis disbanded in 1993 after the release of their fourth album "Screams and Whispers." They briefly reunited for live performances in the 2000s and early 2010s but have not released any new material since their initial disbandment.
