Albert Hammond Jr.

Albert Hammond Jr.

American rock musician and guitarist from The Strokes

Albert Hammond Jr. is an American musician and songwriter, best known as the rhythm and lead guitarist for the rock band The Strokes, which rose to fame in the early 2000s with their debut album "Is This It." Born on April 9, 1980, in Los Angeles, California, Hammond embarked on a solo career alongside his work with The Strokes. He released his debut solo album "Yours To Keep" in 2006, which showcased a more personal and melodic side of his songwriting. This was followed by his second album "¿Cómo Te Llama?" in 2008. His solo work continued to evolve with subsequent releases such as "Francis Trouble" in 2018, an album that delved into his personal history and was inspired by his twin brother who died in utero. Throughout his career, Hammond has been recognized for his distinctive guitar style and contributions to the indie rock genre both as a solo artist and as part of The Strokes.
