Alan Silvestri is a renowned American composer and conductor known for his extensive work in film and television scoring. Born on March 26, 1950, in New York City, Silvestri developed an early interest in music and went on to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston. His career in film scoring took off in the late 1970s and he has since become one of Hollywood's most prolific composers. Silvestri is perhaps best known for his collaborations with director Robert Zemeckis, which include iconic scores for films such as "Back to the Future," "Forrest Gump," and "Cast Away." His work on "Forrest Gump" earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.
