American Rock Band Celebrates Over Two Decades of Music

AFI, short for A Fire Inside, is an American rock band formed in Ukiah, California, in 1991. The band's lineup has remained stable since 1998, with lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer Adam Carson, bassist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist Jade Puget. Initially rooted in hardcore punk, AFI's sound has evolved over the years to encompass a variety of genres including horror punk, post-hardcore, alternative rock, and gothic rock. They gained significant recognition with their fifth album "The Art of Drowning" in 2000 and achieved mainstream success with their sixth album "Sing the Sorrow" in 2003. AFI has released several albums throughout their career with notable works such as "Decemberunderground" in 2006 which featured the hit single "Miss Murder." Their longevity and ability to adapt stylistically have garnered them a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim within the alternative music scene.
