The energetic and mysterious, but first of all mature band SLZA releases a new album 3. The singer Petr Lexa presents himself for the first time as a promising author. The musical duo, which has been on the stage for six years now and has been supplying hits to the domestic pop scene, and whose current concert line-up is shifting more than ever towards a band concept, is releasing a long-prepared album, the title of which is symbolic - 3. An album on which virtually every song could be a single, from the current 4am or the domesticated Paravans, Tears takes fans all the way to the lovey-dovey wedding confession of Heat, which is already topping the trends and charts. During the record's creative-filled period, Tear joined forces with UK producers Oliver Som, Edd Holloway and Nick Atkinson. The album 3, on which they worked together for almost two years, now sees the light of day and brings a completely new, fresher and more mature Slza, leaning heavily on contemporary sound.Singer Petr Lexa and guitarist Lukáš Bundil admit that it was then that they decided to try to work differently than on previous albums. They agree that the work on album 3 was different mainly in their own approach to the creation. They didn't let themselves be influenced by their previous work and composed the way they felt at the time. "This record doesn't have a coherent concept, a theme. "We felt that if we didn't change the way we worked on new songs, we wouldn't go anywhere as a band and we would stop enjoying it sooner or later. So we decided to step out of all our comfort zones," Lukáš reveals the evolution. "For me," says lead singer Petr Lexa, "there was a crucial moment when Lukáš mentioned in between talking if I wanted to try composing too. Until then, he was responsible for the music together with the producer at the time, and Ondřej Ladek wrote the lyrics for us." Petr thus started to participate for the first time, both in the music and lyrics, which were written in collaboration with Ondřej Ládek for the album 3. Slza had worked exclusively in the Czech Republic on the previous two albums. With the third album came a change, which is why she tried to approach foreign producers for the first time. "We've always been inspired a lot by the current world pop music. I remember we were always wondering how it was possible that they sounded like this and like this, and how they actually do it abroad. We said to ourselves that he who tries nothing, spoils nothing, and approached a number of foreign producers. We simply made a list of current records that we like, found contacts on the internet of people who have made them, and sent them some of our demos. To our surprise, a large number of them wrote back, and less than a quarter of a year later we were sitting on a plane to a London studio," says guitarist Lukas Bundil with a smile, adding another fond memory of one of the producers' manager Edd Holloway: "When he sent us reference recordings that Edd had produced, one of them was Lewis Capaldi's Grace. At the time he produced his entire album, which subsequently picked up several worldwide awards and became one of the most successful records of the year. Today, it gives me a bit of a chill - not many people knew Lewis back then, but today he is a global star. "Slza sees the process of making the record as a fantastic two-year period of relaxation, enthusiasm and joy. There was an incredibly creative atmosphere both in Edda Holloway's London recording studio and in the Berlin studio of English producer Oliver Som, where they often went to compose and record. "No one was concerned with anything but the music, even when we weren't filming and just going out for lunch or a walk around the neighbourhood," says Lukáš. "Petr and Lukáš are both incredibly talented musicians. They have a gift for writing catchy melodies. Even when I didn't understand the lyrics, I kept singing snippets of the melodies. Plus, Petr has a very recognizable voice and Lukas is an exceptional guitarist. I don't know many musician pairs that stand so close together and motivate each other musically and push each other forward," came from producer Edd Holloway.
