The Bigger Connection: Khruangbin Remix Album In the summer of 2020, soul, Thai funk, psychedelic and surf rockers Khruangbin will release their fourth studio album, "Mordechai", influenced by the sound of Pakistani, Korean and West African music. The album reached number eight on the charts in Germany and number seven in the UK. With "Mordechai Remixes", the Texan trio will release a remix album in 2021, as the title suggests, for which all ten tracks from "Mordechai" served as a template. Only the order does not correspond to the original. "We write our music to be interpreted, and this is another amazing interpretation of music. Letting others work on your music is something very vulnerable. But by corresponding with different artists, we've gained a greater relationship with the songs themselves," says the band. Khruangbin enlisted the help of several DJ, musician and producer friends to rework their songs. These include Kadhja Bonet, Knxwledge, Soul Clap, Harvey Sutherland, Mang Dynasty and Bill Brewster, one half of the DJ duo Mang Dynasty. He also wrote the lyrics for the inner sleeve and says of the album, "Some of these remixes were created specifically for you to dance to while immersing yourself in the Khruangbin sound, while others might be better enjoyed horizontally with headphones on and fashionably loose clothing. The choice is yours." The result is a versatile and danceable album that ranges from dance music to disco to dub: "Mordechai Remixes". The original "Mordechai" album can be found here.
