Frank Sinatra's singing always sounded beautiful, round and relaxed. But what made it sound so easy was the result of years of hard work on his performance. Through experience and constant refinement, Sinatra developed his own attractive vocal style. In March 1953, he decided to change his sound and took a new approach. From then on, he sang in a rhythmic, swinging style accompanied by modern orchestral arrangements by conductor Nelson Riddle. Their partnership matured to perfection and lasted nine years. During this time, Sinatra produced his finest works, including the magnificent 1960 album Nice 'n' Easy. Almost all the songs are slow, romantic ballads. Sprawling but thoughtful. Lively and sensitive numbers. Overall, this is a masterful performance by an artist that underscores the versatility of his repertoire and wide-ranging talent. Perhaps the most sympathetic gem of the Frank Sinatra album catalogue, now newly remastered for the 60th anniversary and with previously unreleased bonus material! "Nice'n'Easy" - the title says it all: on this classic album, Sinatra is relaxed and upbeat, with laid-back swing songs and gentle ballads given extra sparkle by star arranger Nelson Riddle. To mark its 60th anniversary, the album has now been remastered at Capitol Studios. CD: Jewelbox with 16-page booklet, original album tracks and unreleased versions of "I've Got A Crush on You" and "Nice 'n' Easy" and studio interviews with Sinatra LP: Original album tracks in a period "Full Dimensional Stereo" mix.
