Poté, co AC/DC vydali v roce 1980 své legendární šesté studiové album "Back In Black", které je dodnes druhým nejprodávanějším albem na světě, si Cypress Hill v roce 2022 vypůjčili tento název.

"Back In Black" je desáté studiové album hiphopových průkopníků z Los Angeles, které tvoří rappeři B-Real a Sen Dog, DJ Muggs a perkusista Bobo. Produkoval ho výhradně detroitský producent a rapper Black Milk. Poslední album Cypress Hill, "Elephants On Acid", vyšlo již v roce 2018.

Klasická hiphopová deska je návratem ke kořenům. "Bývali jsme hrdí hiphopeři a dělali jsme všechno. Jsme hrdí na to, že jsme součástí hiphopového průmyslu. Natočit čistě hiphopovou desku byla správná cesta," říká Sen Dog.

Cypress Hill již vydali několik ukázek z alba "Back In Black": skladby "Open Ya Mind" a "Champion Sound" v roce 2021 a nový singl "Bye Bye" v lednu 2022, na kterém hostuje kolega rapper Dizzy Wright z Las Vegas. Politicky nabitá skladba se věnuje společenským stížnostem a útlaku, které se vedle textu odrážejí v policejních sirénách. B-Real o skladbě říká: "V tradici Cypress Hill se vždycky snažíme udělat temnou skladbu. Tato píseň je prohlášením. Oklikou jsme se v ní vyjádřili k politice dnešní doby. Vláda nás ukolébává do světa snů. Snaží se nás zaslepit rozdělením, které vytvořila, aby nás uspala, zatímco si dělá, co chce."
